On February 24, 2022, the United States Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) announced that it will be distributing approximately $560 million in payments through HRSA as part of the Provider Relief Fund. This is part of the Phase 4 General Distribution payments.
Up until now, as part of Phase 4, nearly $11.5 billion has already been distributed to more than 78, 000 providers. In addition, as part of the American Rescue Plan (ARP) Rural, nearly $7.5 billion has been distributed to more than 44, 000 providers. This totals nearly $19 billion since November 2021.
The HRSA website now states that all stages of the Provider Relief Fund are now closed to new applications.
Important Dates for the Provider Relief Fund
- Period 2 of the Provider Relief Fund reporting started January 1, 2022 and will remain open through March 31st, 2022 at 11:59pm EST
- Period 3 of the Provider Relief Fund reporting will open July 1, 2022
- Period 4 of the Provider Relief Fund reporting will open January 1, 2023
